My son just turned 5 and handwriting has been a challenge. He hated coloring until this past year and he has struggled with writing his name this year. When my husband and I ask to color or practice he gets very upset. I just started this book with him and he LOVES it! We practice two pages a night and he even asked to do his "homework" the other morning after breakfast! The skills clearly build on each other as the book progresses, so the challenges increase in small increments. It's just what we needed to help him!!

I love how on the color word pages you have pictures that are the basic shape of the obects above to color. Very nice.

Though we've yet to begin using it, I am quite taken with this cheery, appealing little book! And so is my son! I love that it can only really be used in tandem with other introductory lessons and is therefore not a "work through it" kind of workbook, but more a bound paper resource to compliment the other multi-sensory activities that comprise the Get Set for School writing program. The graphics are large and fun to peruse, and the material covered is perfect for the student whose knowledge of the alphabet is emerging along with their writing skills. We are very excited to begin using this book and, in time, having it to serve as a record of what our little learner has accomplished!

I love HWT, I have used it for 5 years now! The only thing I would love to see is a place for the students name on each workbook page. I run a preschool that does not meet every day (time is limited), so it's important for us to write our name each day during each lesson in the Pre-K workbook. Keep up the great work and love the new products! Thanks, Lisa

"My First School Book" is a great beginner book for many students. I have used it many times with children with developmental delays and delayed fine motor skills. Simple and Fun!
