Join us to learn all about Keyboarding Without Tears!

This half-day workshop will teach you how to easily weave keyboarding into your K-5 day. You'll leave with a library of award-winning teaching strategies to help your students succeed with today's computer-based assignments and testing.

This is an interactive BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop) workshop; however, it is not a requirement. (Laptops only. Flash-enabled.)

This is an intermediate level workshop.

K-5 Keyboarding Objectives
  • Learn the developmental progression of keyboarding skills to ensure elementary student success
  • Review student lessons and learn how to add them into your teaching and computer-based testing prep
  • Maximize educator resources to foster success: lesson previews, reports, and digital citizenship lessons  
  • Use student progress reports to help students meet grade-level benchmarks
  • Understand and share research and standards to support keyboarding and academic success

Digital Citizenship: Learn how to teach children about digital information, protection, behavior, and communication
Foundational Skills: Experience multisensory teacher-led lessons that introduce the keyboard
Keyboarding: Actively teach features of the keyboard as well as technology foundational skills, and typing skills
Instruction: Review keyboarding lesson previews for planning instruction
Resources: Remediation Tips, School-to-Home Connections, additional resources for continued learning

From NJ Turnpike (North/South):
Take Exit 8. After the toll, follow take the exit right and signs for Rt. 33 West toward Hightstown. At the traffic light, turn left onto Rt. 33 West. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Monmouth St. The hotel will be on your right.

From Philadelphia:
Take I-276/PA Turnpike East to the NJ Turnpike Extension. Merge onto the NJ Turnpike North. Follow directions above for NJ Turnpike.

From Trenton:
Take Rt. 206 or Rt. 29 South to I-195 East. Take Exit 6 for the NJ Turnpike North. Follow directions above for NJ Turnpike.

From Rt. 130 (N/S) to 133:
Take Rt. 130 to Rt. 133 East toward Freehold. In 3 miles, take the exit onto Rt. 33 West. toward Hightstown. Turn right at the end of the ramp. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Monmouth St. The hotel will be on your right.

From Princeton/Rt. 1:
From Rt. 1 take Washington Rd to Rt. 571 East (Princeton-Hightstown Rd). Continue on Rt. 571 East for nearly 5 miles. Take the jughandle for Rt. 133 East toward Freehold. Follow directions above for Rt. 133.

From Rt. 9, the Garden State Parkway, or Rt. 537, pick up Rt. 33 West. Follow it into East Windsor. Turn right onto Woodside Avenue. The hotel will be directly in front of you.

Please notify us in writing if you do not wish to be included. You must be 18 years or older to attend our professional workshops. Children and infants may not be brought to workshops.
