Patty received her B.S. in Occupational Therapy, magna cum laude, from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is NDT and SIPT trained and certified. Patty also holds a lifetime certificate from the State of Wisconsin to provide Occupational Therapy services to children in the public school sector, a position she held for over 20 years in various school settings in the Milwaukee area. Patty also worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center and was the OT for their Follow Through Clinic. Having worked with the Handwriting Without Tears program for over 17 years, Patty has been a National Presenter for over 10 years. She currently sees children privately and does school consulting both in Milwaukee and the Washington, D.C. greater metro area. Patty has spent several summers on the Greek island of Corfu as a private OT to a child with severe developmental and sensory processing issues and volunteered on the island for two summers. She has volunteered for Hippotherapy with wounded vets and children. Her dog, Maggie, is a therapy assist certified dog. Patty and Maggie have participated in “Read to Rover” programs at various libraries and often visit the VA in DC. Patty has known her husband since seventh grade and they have 6 children. After two years of study and training Patty recently received her private pilot's license on August 8th, 2012.
