Handwriting Without Tears® multisensory hands-on materials are designed to meet the developmental needs of children learning school readiness and handwriting skills. These products help children learn to recognize and form letters and numbers correctly without reversals and transition to cursive. The different materials can be used from pre-k through fifth grade.
The HWT program is unique in providing a line of hands-on instructional materials that can be used effectively for a number of years to provide an engaging, multisensory learning experience that has been proven to deliver outstanding results.

Roll–A–Dough Letters™
Form capital letters and numbers rolling dough snakes with Roll–A–Dough Letters™. Use the tray with sand, shaving cream, or rice for additional practice.

Stamp and See Screen™
Stamp capital letters on the Stamp and See Screen™ using the magnetic stamps. Use the chalk-like tool to trace letters or form them on your own.

Wood Pieces Set for Capital Letters
The Wood Pieces Set and activities help children develop fine motor, social, vocabulary and letter formation skills.

Capital Letter Cards for Wood Pieces
The Capital Letter Cards are ideal for children who are just learning capital letters. The front teaches stroke, sequence, and placement for letters using Wood Pieces Set. The back introduces language arts letter awareness activities. Set includes 26 double-sided 8½" × 11" cards.

Mat for Wood Pieces
The Mat is made of foam, similar to a mousepad. It is blue and measures 8½" by 11". In the top left corner is a bright yellow smiley face. By following the teacher's demonstration, children place the Wood Pieces on the Mat to make capital letters. They learn to make all capital letters correctly—right side up, in the correct sequence of pieces, and facing the right way.

Slate Chalkboard
Forming capital letters and numbers on the Slate Chalkboard is the next step in writing readiness. The chalkboard is made of real slate, measuring 4" x 6", in a sturdy wood frame. The smiley face at the top left corner orients children and reinforces top-to-bottom, left-to-right directionality. The fun and tactile slate lessons prepare children for pencil and paper. -

The Blackboard with Double Lines is used to teach lowercase letters and writing in title case (10" x 17").
